Stitchery!
Since deciding to move back to the US I’ve been completely uninspired to write ANYTHING, and I haven’t felt particularly inspired in other areas as well. That is, until I was browsing through Pinterest and came across a tutorial on how to make a summer tote. The tutorial was by Anna from Noodlehead Her instructions were clear and easy to follow, and I’m pleased with the results.
The only thing I didn’t like was due to my own inexperience in making interior zipper pockets. I wasn’t quite sure how to install the zippered pocket so it would fall between the liner and the exterior without piecing the side of the interior I wanted to install it in. In retrospect, I should have done just that, but at least it doesn’t look Too bad. Still, for my first real attempt at a tote, it went very well. I doubt I could have done such a nice job if it weren’t for a fantastic tutorial. I did do one thing that made the process easier (for me) and instead of canvas between the exterior and interior layers, I used fuse-able interfacing.
So, if you’ve ever wanted to make a tote, but you’ve been intimidated by complicated directions or difficult patterns, just follow the tutorial! Trust me, you’ll be surprised at how easy (and quick) it is to make this tote.
oh awesome, so glad you enjoyed the tutorial!
