I recently found out that my oldest girl is going to have a baby next year. Her due date is March 16th. This was a bit of a surprise, but I am getting excited about being a grandma. It’s kind of strange to think of myself as a grandma since my grandmothers were around 60 when I was born, so I have always thought of grandparents as being at least 20 years older than I am now. It’s also a little strange because I have co-workers close to my age who have young children, in fact one of them is due just a few weeks after my daughter. Odd to think that someone my age is having their second child and I am having my first grandchild around the same time.
Amber will be coming home for vacation next month, which will be the first time I’ve seen her in a little over a year. She is stationed in N.C. right now, and if she gets deployed sometime after the baby is born I will be the one to take care of the little one while she is deployed. It certainly will be a change of pace from my everyday life if that happens.
Meanwhile, I recently found out that a neighbor who I’ve been interested in is interested in me as well. Even though we have chatted on many occasions I never really thought he was interested in me. I guess I was just so nervous about how fit he is and how out of shape I feel that I didn’t notice his interest.
