Empty Apartment, Studying and more
My Oldest Daughter left for the Army one week ago today. She called me for the first time since leaving yesterday and she said she is doing well so far. She sounded very excited about being in boot camp and I’m very happy about that. I’m finally able to get online at home after about a 2 week break, which is really nice. I have been fairly busy though so other than missing the chance to chat with friends online and check email I haven’t really missed it too much.
I’m starting to get my apartment organized the way I like it. It’s really strange not having anyone else living with me – a first in over 19 years! I haven’t been home much since Amber left for the Army, so I haven’t had a lot of time to get things squared away. When I have been home I’ve been rather tied up with studying for my upcoming pharmacy technician certification exam. The rest of the time I’ve been writing and revising the story I’ve been working on. I’ve got around 24,000 words in it so far, and I’m hoping to finish the story within the next year or two, depending on how busy I am with work and studying. My friends all tell me I should publish the story, but we’ll see.
